To identify which of our products contain lower impact fibers, look out for the below icons & contents in the product descriptions when shopping!

ORGANIC COTTON

Organic cotton is grown without the use of GM seeds or toxic chemicals. This promotes healthier soil, water and air conditions which benefit the farmers, their communities and wildlife. The farming of conventional cotton typically uses toxic chemicals for pesticides and defoliation. The production of organic cotton uses 91% less water and 61% less energy to produce in comparison to conventional cotton.

LINEN

Linen is produced from the inherently sustainable flax plant which is typically grown without the use of chemicals. It requires significantly less water and energy to produce than cotton. Linen is very durable and becomes softer with each wash, making it an ideal fiber for long lasting garments.

RECYCLED POLYESTER

This polyester fiber is made from post-consumer plastic bottles in a process that requires much less energy and resources than conventional polyester. Using recycled plastic lessens our need for petroleum, a non-renewable resource, and diverts plastic trash from landfills.

TENCEL™ LYOCELL

TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are derived from certified, sustainable wood sources. They are made in an environmentally responsible, closed loop production process which recycles process water and reuses the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%. TENCEL™ lyocell fibers are made with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact.

TENCEL™ MODAL

TENCEL™ Modal fibers are mainly manufactured from the renewable raw material beech wood, sourced from sustainable forests in Austria and neighboring countries. These fibers are made in a process that recycles 95% of the production materials back into its manufacturing system. Numerous innovations have been integrated in the production of TENCEL™ Modal fibers, to make the process environmentally sound.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ VISCOSE

Manufactured only from certified and controlled wood sources and produced with significantly lower fossil energy use and water than generic viscose, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ branded viscose fibers are certified with the internationally recognized EU Ecolabel. This label of environmental excellence is only awarded to products and services, which have a significantly lower environmental impact throughout their lifecycle: from raw material extraction to production, distribution and disposal. 

LABELS

We are transitioning our garment labels to be made out of 100% recycled material, either recycled cotton or recycled polyester. Launching in FW20.

HANG TAGS

Our current hang tags are made of 100% recycled paper. Our new hang tag, launching in the FW20 collection, is made of recycled & FSC certified paper. The hang tag string & safety pin will be made of recycled material.

MAILERS

We are happy to now ship our products in mailers made out of 100% recycled plastic! They are recyclable and reusable. They include an extra adhesive to reuse the bag for a return or your next personal use!

COMMITTMENT TO PROTECTING FORESTS

We have partnered with the non-profit group Canopy to help ensure that our forest-based products come from sustainably managed forests. We're committing to a policy that guides our effort to protect ancient and endangered forests.
